RICK SHARP
Supurb
Intertainer /Guitar Man!
Rick Was born in Emmett, Idaho to a family full of musical talent! At the age of 3, Rick began his recording on
the family’s old real-to real recorder and Rick will tell you today, once music gets in your blood, it’s for life!
At age 10, his family moved to Oklahoma where he lived and performed with the guidance of his father Ted, also
an accomplished musician. Rick played his first gig on a plastic futaphone and then moved up to the sax and played
the monthly jam where he caught the guitar bug when a buddy stuck a Stratocaster in his hand! He got himself a
silvertone hornet and by age 14 he was an accomplished guitar player, and today has reached the realm of excellence.
His supurb playing made him the major player in his dads band, "Ted Sharp the string busters" and before
long Rick struck out on his own taking his music to the road. He began playing throughout Oklahoma, Texas, and
Kansas. He soon joined a band in Nashville, TN. "The Bandits" and it turned out to be the move that allowed
him to tour most of the 48 states in the USA. His name and accomplishments were growing and as fate would have
it, he developed his now famous "Outlaw" style that his fans have grown to love today! Rick landed some
dates in the legendary "Reo Palm Isle" in Longview, Texas which gave him the opportunity to open shows
for such greats as, Mel Tillis, Keith Whitley, Willie Nelson, Rick Van Shelton, Johnny Rodriquez, David Frizzell,
Freddie Fender & Rodney Crowell. It was during this time he developed into the star he truly is today! Rick
is now living in the beautiful Smokey mountains where he is performing and doing his famous tribute to Waylon Jennings,
in Pigeon Forge and venues across the country, and in the last year or so due to his signing with Universal Sound
Records, who tested the waters with some of Rick’s early recordings, he has become very popular in Europe. Now
in 2007 , Universal has recorded a great new album on Rick in Nashville , sparing no expense to get the very best
that money could buy, and Like the pro Rick is, he stepped up to the mic and gave a brilliant performance on every
song! Rick devotes his life and music to his family , and friends around the world!
