Hello everyone and thank you for stopping by to visit my new official website. 2005 has been a very busy year so far with many show dates and destinations in the US plus we have begun planning an overseas tour with T Jae Christian and Unversal Sound Records for a second tour in that I am anxiously looking forward to!
And I’ve completed two new CD’s…”Hello, I’m Rick Sharp” produced by and featuring CMA Producer of the Year and Steel Guitar Hall Of Famer, Walter Haynes on Steel Guitar, and “My Tribute to Waylon Jennings” , a collection of 10 great Waylon tunes!
We are so very thankful for the airplay and response we’re recieving from Europe and Australia, and we want sincerely thank all of the DJ’s who have been so wonderful to us.You are certainly helping to make our dreams come true!
Since relocating in 2003 to the magnificently beautiful area of the Eastern Tennessee Smoky Mountains I have met so many wonderful people all around the Gatlinburg / Pigeon Forge, TN region and a special thank you to so many for such a warm welcome to myself and my family.
I’ve been blessed to be back on the charts overseas! The releases on Country HotDisc International have done very well. We are very happy with the response to these songs!
I received the most wonderful email from Thomas Buskhagen this week of Mr. Music in Sweden. He informed us that “Luchenbach, Tx” from “My Tribute to Waylon” will be chosen for the Juley release. Mr. Music has done so much to bring Good Country Music to the people in Scandinavia, while doing so much for major and independent artist worldwide. I am honored to have been chosen for the CD and I’m so grateful for this!
And I’ve had the great fortune to have been picked up by Universal Sound Records. It is one of the most respected Independent Labels in the world. T Jae Christian and I are planning a tour in Europe this next summer. I can’t wait to see all my friends over there again and get back on the stage with T Jae!
“In A Town He Helped Build” has been released on the February Hot Disc International, and another song from “Hello, I’m Rick Sharp”, “I’m Goin’ To Hell Just Like You Told Me Too” is being considered for a March release. And, “Let The Children Play” was released in May! Stuart Cameron does so much great work to pomote Country Music worldwide! We’re very excited about these releases!
I’ve been keeping very busy playing locally around the Eastern Tennessee area, especially in Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg and Sevierville. I’ve been playing some country gigs and a bunch of good old rock and roll shows too! So far so good, I’ve been having a blast and still meeting new friends and fans every day!
Now that Spring is coming, I’ll be looking forward to playing the Waylon Jennings Tribute Show at a variety of venues and festivals. I’ve hooked up with some old buddys from the past, Jack Boles, Gary Gentry and Tommy Minniear. We’re writing and publishing, and have landed a deal for Gary. Stay tuned for more on this! I’ll be keeping up with the local venues where I’ve met so many new friends so if a show comes your way be sure to catch it!
I’ve finished the new CD, “My Tribute To Waylon”, and I’m proud to say I produced it, consulting with Walter Haynes, of course, and played all the instruments, even steel guitar, which I’m learning to play. The CD is getting great reviews at the shows so far, and I’m looking forward to doing some shows with my buddy who does the best Willie I’ve ever heard or seen, Mo Truman.
I want to extend a huge thank you to all the fans who follow me from gig to gig, and all the Dj’s worldwide who play my music. Thank you for the loyalty and support, it’s what makes the music business fun!
I’ve always got something new going on so keep in touch, sign my guestbook and visit my new online music store.
I hope you enjoy the new site and visit the web site often.
